If the past few weeks have been a feast of choral music, this week is a celebration of song. The highlight of the week must be the return of the prodigal son, Evanston native Matthew Polenzani who will perform Schubert's Die Schöne Müllerin with pianist Alan Darling Saturday at Northwestern University. Earlier in the week you can hear VOX3 Collective's expansive song and cantata program on the theme of mythology and fairy tales at Pianoforte Foundation. You will also find Fourth Coast Ensemble in a program of vocal chamber music by composers who hail from or reside in the Midwest "Songs of the Fourth Coast."
It's not too late to hear either Paul Agnew conducting Purcell with Music of the Baroque or to catch Muti and Maestri in their last concert performance of Falstaff with the CSO.
