Javier Camarena, performing for the first time in Chicago, is known for his fiery tone, firm and supple vocals, and his formidable coloratura. His legendary performance in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Metropolitan Opera in April 2014 earned him a rare encore; something given only twice before in the Met’s 70 year history. He has earned his roles alongside some of the most important figures in the world of opera under prestigious conductors. This performance is presented by the Harris Theater in association with Lyric Unlimited and the National Museum of Mexican Art.
