Here is a plot of lies, intrigue and passion between Julius Caesar and his beloved, but vexing Cleopatra! Drama, deception and death hold sway in this masterpiece of our beloved Handel! This production of Giulio Cesare is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the acclaimed New York City Opera’s production by Julius Rudel which catapulted the young Beverly Sills to international stardom. We will, in our own Handel Week way, recreate that event in history that gave us Handel Opera on stage in America for the first time and brought stardom to an unknown soprano. Join our beloved Kimberly McCord as Cleopatra with a stellar cast including Handel Festival family favorites Philip A. Kraus, Michelle Wrighte, and Noah Gartner! Also hear, new to Handel Week, sensational male Soprano Justin Kim! This will be a festival for the ages!
