The Civic Orchestra of Chicago’s 2015/16 season concludes with a dynamic collaboration featuring Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center. This Shakespeare-themed program features the nation’s most talented young opera singers performing operatic jewels from Berlioz’s Romeo and Juliet and lesser-known Béatrice et Bénédict, composer Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet and Raymond, ou Le Secret de la reine and William Walton’s Troilus and Cressida. The program concludes with scenes from two different musical adaptations of Shakespeare’s Falstaff: Vaughan Williams’ Sir John in Love and Verdi's Falstaff.
