King Solomon's Singers & The Rookery present Nuptial Bliss: Choral Music from Weddings Ancient and Modern

  • St. Josephat 2311 N Southport Ave Chicago, Illinois 60614 (map)

King Solomon's Singers and The Rookery are pleased to announce a very special collaborative event. In honor of a couple of important anniversaries in the histories of these groups, KSS and the Rooks are teaming up to present Nuptial Bliss, a concert of choral music from weddings ancient and modern. The concert will take place in beautiful St. Josaphat Parish and will feature a 500-year range of glorious choral works often associated with the celebration of weddings, along with a selection of beautiful lesser-known pieces and a few surprises! Fans of both ensembles have much to look forward to in this concert: the heavenly harmonies and perfect counterpoint of Josquin and Palestrina; the robust, hall-filling sounds of Slavic masterpieces; a magnificent eight-part choral fanfare; and much more.

The concert is free, with a suggested (but not at all required) donation at the door of $20, $10 for students.
