CAIC Collaborative Works Festival presents Ailyn Pérez & Craig Terry in recital

Continuing a commitment to ensuring that the Chicago classical music lineup contains at least one major vocal recital each season, the 2016 Collaborative Works Festival’s annual solo recital will be held on September 8, 2016 in Ganz Hall, presented in collaboration with Roosevelt University’s Chicago College for the Performing Arts and will feature Chicago-native, Ailyn Pérez, in her professional Chicago recital debut in a program of French and Spanish songs by the composers Manuel De Falla., Gabriel Fauré, Reynaldo Hahn, Fernando Obradors, and Joaquin Turina,. The 2012 Richard Tucker Award winning soprano is widely known as an opera superstar who frequents stages such as the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, San Francisco Opera, Bavarian State Opera, and Salzburg Festival.
Perez' album recital debut – Poème d’un jour, a program of French and Italian songs on the Opus Arte label – was released to rave reviews; the UK’s Independent awarded it a full five stars, while International Record Review confessed: “Every so often, a singer comes along who completely bowls you over.”
