The NFP dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic E. M. Skinner Opus 327 pipe organ in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Evanston is teaming up with Bella Voce and the recently formed period instrument band, Bella Voce Sinfonia, to present “One Prelude & Two Cantatas for Our Time.” Bach’s Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen, BWV 12, and Wachet! Betet! Betet! Wachet!, BWV 70 are paired with the Toccata, Adagio, and Fugue in C Major, BWV 564, performed by the Director of Music at St. James Cathedral in Chicago, Stephen Buzard.
The BV Sinfonia makes its second outing following its glorious debut with Bach’s B Minor Mass last fall, and returns to conclude BV’s season in the spring program of Handel, Purcell, and Vivaldi.
