Chicago Folks Operetta in Concert – Operetta and the Great War

This multi-media concert looks at how the operetta industry survived The Great War, by performing excerpts of some of the forgotten World War I operettas, as well as examining the role of operetta in wartime propaganda efforts. The show will feature a speaker, 3 singers performing the music of Emmerich Kálmán, Leo Fall, Henri Christine, Ivor Novello, Maurice Yvain, Andre Messager, Victor Herbert, Harold Fraser-Simson and Franz Lehár, as well as images from the Great War.
