King Solomon's SIngers and The Rookery are ensembles that prize musicianship over gimmickry. These ensembles feature some of the most intelligent and skilled singers Chicago has to offer, demonstrating that it is possible to be both scholarly and entertaining.
New Moon Opera Company will perform an abridged version of their spring opera, Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck at Thirsty Ears Classical Music Festival. The opera is accompanied by piano and is family-friendly. Meet us in the sanctuary of All Saints' Church at 4550 Hermitage Avenue in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood at 4:30 pm. Entrance to the performance is free!
Thirsty Ears Classical Music Festival goes from 1 pm to 8 pm, with performances throughout the day, as well as beer for sale, food trucks, and children's activities from 1 - 4. Entrance to the festival is $5 suggested donation.
