Hansel and Gretel at Thirsty Ears Classical Music Festival

New Moon Opera Company will perform an abridged version of their spring opera, Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck at Thirsty Ears Classical Music Festival.  The opera is accompanied by piano and is family-friendly.  Meet us in the sanctuary of All Saints' Church at 4550 Hermitage Avenue in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood at 4:30 pm.  Entrance to the performance is free!

Thirsty Ears Classical Music Festival goes from 1 pm to 8 pm, with performances throughout the day, as well as beer for sale, food trucks, and children's activities from 1 - 4.  Entrance to the festival is $5 suggested donation.

Walk Together - a concert for racial understanding and reconcilliation

Benjamin Rivera, director of Cantate Chicago, put together this volunteer chorus of some of the city's greatest singers to benefit Chicago Children's Choir and to raise the awareness of the need for racial harmony amongst the musician community and our audiences.

UIC Symphonic Choir presents Michael Haydn's Requeim

Michael J Anderson and Andrew Lewis direct the UIC Symphonic Choir in a program that includes a grand work whihc sounds an awful lot like the Mozart Requiem, though it predates it.  Soloists include soprano Kirsten Hedegaard, countertenor Thomas Aláan, tenor Nolan Carter, and bass Vince Wallace with concertmaster Martin Davids and the Janus Ensemble.
